X-Plane Airliner is an awesome flight simulator for the iPhone. It features the best iPhone integration I’ve ever seen in its class, awesome and realistic tools and planes, and different airports, regions, times, and other factors, which will keep you playing for a long, long time.
The user interface on this application is very good, but not quite perfect. A big factor of a good UI is good usage of space, and the menu tabs and text can sometimes be small and frustrating. To the developer, I recommend using the top and bottom for all the menu tabs, making them easier to select. Startup on the app can be slow, as well as some aspects in the menus, but the overall gameplay is fast. My personal experience with the app started when a friend of mine showed me the app (we are both airplane fans) and recommended it. After playing around with the app for ten minutes or so, I knew I was going to get it as soon as I got home. I thought ten bucks was a bit pricy, it’s worth 7 or 8, but the game is amazing. As for the price, it is a flight simulator, and those do get costly. In the game, I can take off perfectly, but I still need LOTS of practice on landing!
Overall, X-Plane is awesome. Almost every aspect seems polished and realistic, and the thrill of flying a plane on this app is unbeatable. Ten dollars may seem, like a lot, but it really isn’t for something this cool!
