Thinkgeek Personal Soundtrack Tee

Life is like a roller coaster, sometimes it’s up and sometimes its down. You can express yourself verbally, and now with the ThinkGeek personal soundtrack teeshirt you can express yourself musically.

With the personal soundtrack tee you can play up to 20 sound clips through the speaker built in to the front of the tee. You may be asking “whhao!?!?, a speaker built into a shirt”. Well YES there is a speaker. No it is not clunky. Yes this shirt is cool. Yes the shirt was originally and april fools jokes, gone horribly good.

It looks great, feels awkward and isn’t as comfy as your other tees. In addition to the speaker is attached with velcro ring, and can come off with a little tug. Wires thread through a tube of fabric from the speaker down to the console with the batteries and sound controller. The battery pack weighs quite a bit for a teeshirt so order a size that fits snug on you. If you are looking for something to wear for comfort try a ThinkGeek hoodie.

One of the awesome things about the teeshirt is it’s ability to change the sounds. It comes with a small SD card capable of holding 20 audio tracks, to reprogram your tracks you simply replace the files on the card with your own audio. You need a card reader to update the SD card, they can be bought for cheap here. With tons of options for sounds, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

Washing the shirt can be a challenge. You need to remove the speaker, detach the wires from the speaker and thread the wire through a small fabric loop back out of the teeshirt and finally unclip and remove the battery pack from the pouch. Putting it back together is quite easy, but takes a few minutes as well. Believe me, it is worth it.

There are tons of interactive teeshirts, and the personal soundtrack tee is just ONE of them. If you aren’t looking to impress that girl you like, but are looking to impress your friends then get one! Face it, the shirt is freeeakking awesome!

Without further ado, a video of the shirt in action.

  4. Nice shirt! Where do i buy one for me? :D

  5. Amazing. I’ve always wanted my own personal soundtrack as I’m walking about. I wonder if I could use it to get an entire group of people to suddenly break out into song and dance, lol

  6. Good review, it looks like a shirt that you wouldn’t really use everyday, because of the difficulty cleaning it and also because of the comfort, but I’d like to have one, would turn some heads :P

  7. This would totally go well with the shirt that’s an equalizer display

  8. It sounds cool but how would you wash the shirt??? Wouldn’t it get broken in the washing machine????

    • @Moop75 Unplug battery pack with remote from cable and remove. Then, peel Velcro-backed speaker from shirt, unplug cable and remove. Hand Wash or machine wash cold on gentle cycle. Hang dry or tumble dry low.

Hope that answers your question :D

  9. wow thats a pretty t-shirt!!! hahahaha its so cool I would buy it!!!

  12. This is pretty sweet! How much does it cost though?

  13. That’s too legit too quit. I would a Rick that tee everyday!

  14. Dude, I want that shirt!

  15. sounds cool as long as there’s no chance of electrocution, electrical burns, or other related injuries

  16. Looks cool! I already have a drum shirt, and this one would go good with it.

  17. It’s a great t-shirt ;)

  18. I wouldn’t buy this shirt. Not even for Halloween. It’s pretty useless to have a speaker smack dab in the middle of your chest (unless you’re Iron Man, I guess). Impress my friends? Don’t take this the wrong way, the video was pretty funny. The shirt is just to impractical and unappealing for me.
