Multi-player games have become extremely popular in the AppStore, however not all of them have the replay value and entertainment users are looking for.

Com2uS released Homerun Battle 3D (formerly Baseball Sluggers) their online multi-player baseball game in June and it became an instant hit!

Well once again they bring us another awesome online game for the iPhone and iPod Touch, Sniper vs Sniper Online.

Once you launch the app, a pretty cool intro video will start playing showing a battle between 2 snipers, after that you will approach a registration screen

for online play, simply enter your desired username and password then you’re all set. After this you move on to the main menu, before you do anything else

I recommend you go to settings and calibrate your device so aiming becomes easier for you there are also several other things you can change in the settings.

Now you can either jump in and fight online or get aquainted with the game and go to single-player mode (recommended!).

In Single-player all you have to do is complete several different missions, 30 to be exact, while selecting a mission you can flip through them like cover-flow.

There are 3 different modes of play in Singleplayer:

• Campaign: Snipe down multiple snipers on one map
• 1 vs 1: Take down an infamous sniper in a 1 vs 1 battle
• Special Mission: These are like challenges, eliminate 60 targets in a given time etc. 5 special missions for each map.

After you pick your mode of play, you’re finally in the game, you begin with a view of the map, on the top of the screen there is a health gauge, this displays your current HP and the opponents HP.

Tap the screen to go to binocular mode which is perfect for scouting out your enemies, once you’ve found them tap the screen again and you’ll switch to your sniper rifle.

Tilt your iDevice in different directions to scout and aim your rifle. 3 buttons will appear on the screen so you can easily switch to a mode.

Once you think you’ve got a good shot on your target press anywhere on the screen, or press the bullet button to fire. Head-shots get you the most points.

The controls are just right, its not too easy to shoot down your opponent and its not too hard this gives the game a realistic sniper feel.

Now on to online play. Once you select the Online Play option on the main menu, you’re taken to the online lobby, here you can see other people in the lobby and by tapping on them you can view their stats, there is also a message board in the middle where you can chat with other players.

Now you can either play a 1 vs 1 match or an ‘Alliance attack’ match. Alliance attack is like a co-op mode where you play with other people

and try to complete as many stages as possible. Your get paired up and are ready to play. Online play is fairly simple however I haven’t won a single match yet.

You pick your arena, there are several different ones to choose from and then the game begins. Basically the goal is to get the other sniper before he gets you by comepletely finishing his health.

You have to be quite fast and find your opponent quickly otherwise you will definitely lose. There are also pre-recorded messages that you can send your opponent with a tap of a button however its almost impossible to do that without getting hit by your opponent. If you are shot then in the next round you are aided and told where your opponent may be hiding.

Online play also includes Twitter and Facebook integration so you can share your score with friends.The music makes you feel like you’ve teleported to the ‘Bourne’ movies, fans will know what I’m talking about.

Overall Sniper Vs Sniper is an excellent addition to the AppStore, with exciting online play and a fun story mode. I recommend this to anyone who’s looking for

a good shooter or online game. I’m also pretty sure updates will include various changes and improvements.
